About us

Catholic Association: The Who, The Why and The What ........

Catholic Association (CA) membership is comprised of all the parents / guardians who have children attending Catholic Education classes at the Le Chéile ETNS, Mornington Road.

The purpose of the CA is to enable children who are attending the multi–denominational school to take part in a religious programme, which will enable the children to receive the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation in accordance with the Diocese of Meath requirements.

The Catholic Association Committee is formed each year (in June) by a group of parents who opt to volunteer their time and skills to fulfill the purpose of the CA.

Typically the CA Committee would undertake the following tasks:

·         Secure suitable premises in which classes can take place (presently we are very fortunate that the Le
Chéile school allow us to use their facilities).

·         To engage qualified and Garda vetted teachers to provide the classes.

·         To carry out the administrative tasks of the process such as:

(i)                 Communication with parents, keeping them up to date etc

(ii)               Maintaining attendance records, absence notes etc

(iii)              Keeping financial records, payments to teachers etc

(iv)             Recording details of meetings etc

·         Organisation of CA events: registration, sacramental rehearsals and receptions, photographer etc

Getting Involved with the CA Committee

In June each year, the CA AGM is held at the school hall – if you have some time to spare, why not volunteer for one of the following roles:

Chairperson: Group Leader and Spokesperson

Secretary: records information from meetings etc

Treasurer: keeps financial transactions and records

Assistant to Chairperson / Secretary / Treasurer: assist in carrying out the above roles

Class Representatives: These parents provide an essential link between teachers / other parents / priests and the CA Committee. They organise weekly supervision, sacramental receptions and attend relevant meetings.

How Can You Get Involved with the CA?

Each week, parents and guardians are involved in the vital supervision of children attending classes.

You can offer to help out at any CA event (e.g. registration, sacramental preparation / receptions)

At any stage, your feedback on any CA matter or event is welcome as this lets us know what we are getting right, as well as the areas we need to improve on.

The CA Committee is contactable either by mobile phone or email.  Committee members are also usually available at the school each week prior to classes. Click here to Contact us.
