My child does not attend the Le Cheile ETNS, can he/she be registered for the Catholic Education classes? A. Yes, children who do not attend the Le Cheile ETNS can be enrolled for the classes. Please note however that the number of children in attendance is subject to class sizes. Q. My child is starting in Second Class, has not attended any religion classes and would like to make his/ her First Communion - can he/she attend the classes now? A. If you wish for your child to make his/her First Communion in 2013 they must have been baptised and have already completed the first class after school Catholic Education programme, before enrolling in the second class. If you wish for your child to make his/her First Communion in 2014 it is compulsory as set out by the Meath Diocese that he/she is baptized and attends Catholic Education classes from 1 st October 2012 through to May 2014. Q. My child is starting in Sixth Class, has not attended any religion classes and would like to make his/her Confirmation - can he/she attend the classes now? A. If you wish for your child to make their Confirmation in 2013 they must already be attending Catholic Education Classes. If you wish for your child to make their Confirmation in 2014 it is compulsory as set out by the Meath Diocese that they attend Catholic Education classes at the least from 1st October 2012 through to May 2014. Those wishing for your child(ren) to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must have completed 3rd, 4th & 5th class after school “Catholic Education Programme”, before enrolling in the 6 th Class programme. Q. What should I do when my child is absent from a class due to sickness etc? A. When a child is absent from a class, the parent/guardian should submit an explanation note to the religion teacher or a CA member at the next class. This note will accompany the class roll when reviewed by the local priest. |
